At GAZ Energy, we welcomed two students from the Secondary School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Ostrava for a professional internship focused on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and manufacturing quality.
Over the course of two weeks, they explored the inner workings of battery storage right from the basics:
🔋The structure and construction of a battery container
⚙️ Individual components and their role in the system
🔄 How BESS operates - from batteries and inverters to the transformer
🛡️ Safety principles, risk analysis, and testing
📋 Quality management, variance control, and change management
And how did the students themselves perceive the internship?
"We took advantage of a great opportunity to be part of a team of experienced GAZ Energy technicians for two weeks and to look at the production of containerized Li-ion storage systems close to our school and homes. We were particularly interested in the automation of control tests, which run completely autonomously once connected to the testing equipment."
We would like to thank our colleagues who dedicated their time, experience, and energy to the students. Showing young people the reality of modern energy and a top-tier manufacturing facility is not a given — which makes us appreciate the approach of our people and the excellent mentoring they provided during the internship even more. 👏
We believe that sharing know-how and working with the younger generation is an important part of a tech company's responsibility. Because the future of the energy sector depends not only on technology, but mainly on the people who will drive it forward.
